Sunday

Woo, everypuppy and cat. It's me - Dave. Ammy's so funny and she told a great joke on Thursday - or should I say "Thirstday", so I thought I'd tell her a little joke this morning!

Hey, Ams!? Do you know what day it is?

Sunday!

Woo! Get it? I was laying in the sun ... and it's Sunday ... and so ...

OK. Maybe Thirstday was better. I've got to work on my joke-telling skills.

Hee hee hee! Oh, Davy!

At least Ammy liked it.

Luv,
Dave

Another Go Round

Ha roo, pups and kit-kats. Zimmie here. Remember yesterday when I said I was trying my mom's patience? My friend Joe Stains left a great comment. He asked, "Hmm... how was her patience? Worth another go round??" Let me allow this picture to do the talking:

You keep trying, Zim; I've got your six!

Definitely worth another go round, Joe! Definitely! Ha roo roo roo! I even had back up!

Zim

Giving It a Try

Hey pups and cool-cats! It's me, Zim! Can you guess what I'm doing in this picture?

I didn't even know it myself, so don't beat yourself up if you don't get it right away. I was trying something ... and didn't even realize I was trying it!

Did you get it yet? Here's a hint. I was supposed to be doing my business. But really... I thought I saw something over in our neighbors' yard. There was nothing there, but there could have been. So I did what I do best. I sat ... and I stared.

Does anyone know what I was trying yet? Apparently, I was trying my mom's patience. Hmm! How interesting! I must say, it was fairly uneventful compared to when I usually give it a go.

I sat there for quite a while, then since there was nothing in Mohammed's yard, I focused my attention over to the other side of the street and got comfy.

You never know; something could be shakin' over there. Really.

Play bows,
Zim

Today Is...

Hi everypuppy and kitty! Do you know what today is?

It's Thirstday. Hee hee hee!

Get it? Thirst-day. Hee hee hee. Oh, come on. I haven't told one of my jokes in a long time! ...and you KNOW you laughed! :)

Have a happy Thirstday!
Love,
Amber

Roger Hits the Studio

Tail wags, pups and kit-cats! It's me - Stormy! You may be wondering why you've seen Roger the Rat posing with me, Ammy and Zimmie ... but not with Dave. Well, there's a good reason for that; I'll go into it later. But really, Rog HAS made his way to the Quilt Studio! Check these pix out!

Here he is, watching Mom sew.

(Yes, that's our very cool Ao4 HQs flag in the background, on the door. Mom was afraid if we hung it outside it would get messed up! It's here where we can all see it and enjoy it!)

Dave found a fabric to coordinate with a fun Mickey Mouse print that Kat and Steve and Wilbur's mom sent to make a tote, and paired them up with a yellow/gold leash for the handles. (Mom later sent the bag to K, S & W's mom as a surprise!) Roger heard Mom mention a "mouse" and thought maybe there was a mouse he could hang out with in the Studio.

Mom had to break it to him that Mickey was just a design on the fab. Roger seemed so sad, though, and we thought he might need a pal more his size. Mom put him up on a shelf - HIGH on a shelf - with the Valentine's stuffy Zim's girlfriend Sitka sent him.

They do look mighty cute together, don't they? Oh, and don't worry. He's safe up there. But just to be on the safe side ... I'll keep an eye on him when we're down here.

That's right. I've got my eye on you.

Oh - not ROGER. I'm watching Dave.

I just want to play with him, Storms! I wouldn't hurt the little guy!

We don't want Roger to end up like Wonky. I'm here to make sure that doesn't happen.

Tail wags,
Storms

I Need a Bigger Bed

Ha roo, pups and kitties. Zim here. I need a bigger bed.

Seriously.

Does it look any better from this angle?

Sigh. The "espresso" L-shaped sofa at this link sounds good. Come to think of it, an espresso itself sounds good. Mmm... coffee....

Ram-a-Lamb's Photo Shoot

Hi everypuppy and kitty-cat! It's me - Ammy! There I was, minding my very own business when Mom said something about a "photo shoot for the Ram-a-Lamb". I didn't really pay attention, because I thought she meant her BAG called the RAL. Sadly... I was mistaken. She meant ME, the original Ram-a-Lamb.

I remembered everything Stormy taught us in her Cooperating for Photos classes. When Mom asked me to look at the camera, I looked to the right.

Then she tried again and I looked to the left.

Then she said, "Please, Ammy! Please look straight ahead!" So I did!

Only maybe slightly higher than she wanted me to. Hee hee hee! Then Mom said to please not look up, so I looked down -

...and grabbed my cool camo football.

Mom let me play for a while, then said, "OK, Ams. Let's go in - I give up!" Which sounded great ... and ... I forgot myself! I looked RIGHT at the camera and smiled.

Please don't anypuppy tell Stormy about this, OK? I can't believe Mom tricked me! Hrmph!

Love,
Ammy

Serene Sunday

Kansas doesn't always have stormy (with a small 's') skies. Sometimes we get sunsets like this:

The Low Down on Roger's Secret Mission

Woo, everypuppy and kittycat, it's me - Dave! Hang on to your collars; I've got BIG news!

For the past few days, Zim has shared with you the arrival of Roger, Roger settling in, and Roger learning about some of our rituals here at Ao4 HQs. Well, once he felt comfortable enough, he told Zim about the Secret Mission Huffle sent him on!

Zim came in to tell us about it and Mom hit the vid button! He was so excited, though, that he forgot himself and resorted back to his first language - Coyote. (To new readers, Zim had been chained to a tree for the first year and a half of his life and learned to sing from the Coyotes who talked to him. Once he adopted our family, Stormy taught him Siberian!) Anywoo, here's Zim with the news - and my translation into Siberian.

I couldn't believe it when I heard it, either! Woo!

Luv,
Dave

PS: In case anyone is wondering what that is on the counter by me, it's a stack of new fabric for me and Mom. Here they are, after they came out of the wash:

Stormy had Mom iron them all when the thunderstorm rolled in at 0300 this morning. Woo, I can't wait to play with them! I don't think the photo does the colors justice!

Decked Out

Ha roo, pups! It's me, Zim! Three days in a row - how exciting is that!?!?

When I signed off yesterday, I promised to share pix of our "coffee on the deck" morning ritual. We love going out there; our deck gets morning sun, so it's usually cool enough to hang out, smell interesting things, and keep watch over the neighborhood. And Mom and Dad get to have coffee. As most of you know, sadly enough, it's on the Forbidden Foods List for pups. Rats! (Oh, sorry. Not you, Roger.) But that doesn't mean I can't dream about having some!

Anyroo, the other morning, we all headed out. Dave got into position first:

He looks very laid-back there, doesn't he? But don't let that fool you. It's hard work, watching over the entire neighborhood! I also took up my normal spot, camouflaged by the top of our White Ash tree:

See how alert I am? You never know when Oswald might start hopping around in our yard! I have to be prepared to stare at him at all times!

Roger wanted to come out and learn how to do Coffee On the Deck with us. I tried to explain to him that it was VERY hard work...

...but he insisted he was up to the challenge. I decided to give the little guy a chance and focused back on the view:

I settled in, then assumed the Snooter Rest on the Railing manuever - a very challenging pose. Just thinking about it must have been too much for my pal Rog:

That's right. He keeled over from exhaustion. There was only one way to revive him! Dad's coffee!

It did the trick, and we were able to get back to work. I decided I'd best give him a paw up, though.

Here you go, little fella! Stick close to me!

Our neighborhood has NEVER been safer! Really!

OH! And he finally told me what his Secret Mission is! Dave will fill you in tomorrow!

Zim

Roger That!

Ha roo, pups! It's me, the Z-man again. I thought I'd share more pix of how Roger's settling in here with you.

When I left off yesterday, he and Stormy were all snuggled in for a nap. Since he travelled here all the way from Australia, he HAD to be tired! Hungry, too! After nap time, it was time to chow down! I let Roger share my Euk with me.

He really didn't eat much, but seemed good to go afterwards. He even helped me with the dishes!

That's really nice of him, don't you think?

After chow time, it was nap time, of course.

After a short snooze, Roger said he was ready to play. Play!?!? Now you're talking! I jumped off the bed and we ran into the living room, doing zoomies. I ran back into the bedroom and yelled, "Ha roo!" and play bowed, waiting for Rog to come back in!

Ha roo!

He's a little slower than me - I mean ... he's a rat, not a Sibe - but he came dashing back in!

Here I am, Zim!

We did a lot more running around, then Storm said Roger probably needed some more rest. Amber stepped in and said she'd watch over Rog; those two seem to like each other!

Ammy and Rog

You can see part of me and Dave in the background; we were still in the "huskying around" phase. We eventually decided to settle in for a little sack time.

Am and Rog again

I think he's going to like it here!

Tune in tomorrow, as I show Roger our morning "coffee on the deck" ritual!

Play bows,
Zim

Roger!?! Is That YOU!?!

Ha roo, pups and kit-kats! It's me - Zimmie! I've got to jump right into this - it's so exciting! Remember the box Dave showed you yesterday!?!? Guess who was in it!?!?

ROGER?!?! Is that YOU!?!?
ZIMMIE!

Can you believe it!?!? Huffle Mawson, my best friend, sent her pal Roger over here!

I can't believe you're here!

I had to stick my snooter into his soft fluff and give him a good sniff:

He smells like Huffle! How cool!

I just knew that's what Huffle would smell like! Oh, and check this out:

Huffs sent me a gorgeous card with her picture on it! The front reads, "For my best friend Zim" then there's all kinds of cool stuff on the inside. She also said to try not to chew Roger up on the first day. Chew him up!?!? No way! He's my buddy! Even Ammy likes him! She was reading the card Huffle sent to her, Storms and Davy and she let Roger join her!

See that, Amber? That's Huffle Mawson, Explorer Cat and Honorary Husky...

Ever since Huffle told Am that if she was a Sibe, she'd want to look just like her, Ammy's decided Huff is really special. She said she won't hurt Roger since Huffle sent him!

In fact, Saturday there was a full moon, and Ammy and Roger started clowning around together. Look at those two!

Roger and Ammy

Has to be the full moon, don't you think?

Anyroo, as you may have read on Huffle's blog, she sent Roger here on a secret mission. Or maybe coming here IS his secret mission. I wasn't sure, because it was ... secret. I thought Rog and I had a moment alone, so I started to ask him about it. Mom came in, so we had to clam up.

Who, us? We weren't doing anything. Really.

It's like she doesn't trust me or something. I told Roger to do his best "innocent" pose. Don't we look TOTALLY innocent?

The picture of innocence

Mom forgot all about what we may or may not have been up to and took our picture. She can't resist my cute poses. Storm came in and reminded me that Roger had had a very long trip from Australia, and needed some rest. Good point, Storms. She took Roger to her favorite napping place in the kitchen.

Just stay here for a while, Roger. No one will bother you if you're with me.

She made sure he got some good sleep!

So, Huffs - thanks for sending Roger to us! We're taking really, really good care of him. I'll post more pix of him tomorrow. We've already done a lot of cool stuff together! If only YOU were here, too!

Play bows,
Zim (and Roger)

Package!

Woo, everypuppy! It's me, Dave! We got a really exciting package in the mail recently - all the way from Australia! It was from Zimmie's best friend, Huffle Mawson, Explorer Cat and Honorary Husky. (And her mom.)

Zim got to help open it, and I'll let him tell you the cool surprise Huffle sent him (probably tomorrow) ...

... but there was also something in there for ME! (And Mom.) Check this out!

Woo! Cool, new fabs!

Australian fabric!!! Isn't it cool!?!? One of them has cool, vintage cars and maps of Australia and the others are aboriginal prints. I can't WAIT to help Mom make something from these! Woo, Huffle and Huffle's mom - these are so COOL! Thank woo VERY much!

In other news, Mom and I have been very busy in the studio lately. I kept staring at one of the fabs Mom was using for a Sitia Bag she's making for an American Heart Association fund-raiser. She couldn't figure out why at first. Check this out; I circled the key motif:

Is it just me, or does it look like little cookies scattered around the fabric? Mom says I'm working too hard. She's probably right.

Luv,
Dave, Guide Dog for the Color Blind

It's Nice!

Hi everypuppy and kitty cat! It's me, Ammy! I was hanging out with my brothers letting Mom do some artsy photo stuff, when I heard the most wonderful news!

Here we are ...

Me and the boys

Do we look artsy?

Anyroo... Storm came in and told us we received just the NICEST award from our friends Dakota, Phantom and Thunder -- the OP Pack! Check this out:

It's the "It's Nice to be Nice" award! Oh, this is so very special! They even presented it to our mom, too! That's REALLY nice! Thank roo, friends, from all of us!!! We really treasure your friendship!

(By the way, is that Oswald on the award? Is this for him, too?!? I'm not sure how nice he is; Mom's been watching him steal the neighbor's tomatoes and come over to our yard to eat them!)

Also, I would like to thank the very handsome Shiloh for giving the BFF (Blogging Friends Forever) Award to me! He's so sweet, isn't he?

Thank roo SO much! We just love all of you to pieces!

What a happy day! Thank roo, Dakota, Phantom and Thunder! And thank roo handsome Shiloh!

Love (from all of us),
Ammy
